Tavern Clock Case is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Tavern Clock Kit This product is "Made In China." The machining of the wood is very good. Everything fits well. The chimes sound very cheap. The hour and minute hands are made from a very thin metal. They just barely keep from bending under their own weight. However, I did enjoy putting the kit together to keep me busy during the winter days. I cannot make a recommendation, one way or the other, to a friend. If you need something to putz with, it's OK. If you are after a quality clock, this one will not be to your liking.

Would it be possible to get this clock with a glass insert at the bottom. As I would like to install a Pendulum (movement)?

Asked by: Glenice
Hi Glenice, we don't currently offer a glass insert at the bottom for this clock kit project.

Hi Klockit, Just wondering what the face diameter is i.e. between the wood as I have an existing face and movement that I would like to mount into something. Thanks, Mark

Asked by: Marks99
Hi Mark, the measurement you're asking for above is approximately 11 3/4". We hope this helps!

What is the part number for the movement as I need a replacement for my tavern clock

Asked by: Somojim
Hi Somojim, we recommend purchasing clock movement #12271. The original 5" clocks hands will not fit properly on the #12271 movement. A free pair of clock hands is included with the purchase of #12271 - we recommend the 3 3/4" or 3 7/8" pair. The other option you can go with is a non-chiming movement such as #10001, which will offer a wider selection of hand options. Can you assemble the clock without the tune and speaker?

Asked by: Becky2
Hi Becky, the clock movement that is provided with this clock case can be mounted without the speaker and chime box. It will come in three separate units with wires that can be taken off from the clock movement. Please contact us at 1-800-556-2548 with any questions on this information, we're happy to help!

Can the strike and chime be muted on this action?

Asked by: MarkW
I just finished the kit. The chime has separate batteries from the movement. I would guess that removal of the chime batteries would silence it and not affect the clock movement. If you decide to restart it, you would have to go through the chime/clock realignment procedure again.
