Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not a Miracle Tool, but Close! At first I thought this was way to expensive, but decided to give it a try. I have big mitts and trying to thread those micro nuts on the stem of the clock movement was impossible. I cross-threaded more than I want to admit. When I received the nut driver, I was immediately impressed with the quality! Needless to say, it worked like a dream. Worth every penny!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great concept; a bit over-priced. I've always found working with those tiny nuts that hold the minute hand on to be a bit tedious, so I was intrigued by this tool. For what it does, it's a handy time- (and nut-) saver. It proved too small for the first clock I tried it on, which was a German weight-driven wall clock with a loose minute hand. But to be fair, the product description doesn't say that it works on -all- clocks, and they do give a list of the movements it's known to work with. It works wonderfully on every electric clock movement to which I've applied it. Would have been five-stars, but I really feel that it's over-priced. It's only about 3 inches long, the chrome plating started flaking off after about the third use, and it didn't come with instructions -- I almost lost the internal spring before I figured out that I wasn't supposed to unscrew the back end. For $10, or even $15 this would be a good deal. At $27, it's more of a luxury than a necessity.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It 's a good tool & I really like it. It's much better than trying to use a pair of plyers.

can this be used on the hour hand nut which seems to be smaller than the minute hand nut

Asked by: bonsaipat
Our quartz clock movements do not have an hour hand nut. This tool is designed to attach the thru or cap nut onto many of our quartz clock movements. If you have any questions on this information, please contact us at 1-800-556-2548.

Do they make nut drivers for other movements as well, such as the Qurtex atomic clock?

Asked by: bme0955
This minute hand nut driver will work with our atomic clock movement too.

Thanks for your quick reply. I have just ordered a movement so I assume there will be a diagram describing the two 'wheels' at the back.  What would be the best way to get a good grip on the  minute hand adjuster at the back of the case?  Just fingers?

Asked by: Gianni
Yes, our mounting diagram is included with the purchase of each movement. There is only 1 time set wheel on the back of the movement. If you are unable to easily spin the time set wheel clockwise with your fingers, please call us at 1-800-556-2548.

Just  to be sure, Does this work with the adjusting screw at the back of the movement case?  Also, if the screw is pulled out of the case because of having used too much force, does that ruin the movement?

Asked by: Gianni
The Minute Hand Nut Driver is a tool used to secure or adjust the nut on the hand shaft (front of the movement). We do not recommend using this tool to adjust or remove the screw on the back of the clock movement case. Doing so will void the product warranty and harm the movement inside the case.
