I am interested in this movement to replace a battery operated quartz movement on a decorative grandfather clock and I am not sure of the thickness of the dial board. Can you tell me how long the shaft is?

Asked by: Dano21texas
Hi Dano21texas, the total hand shaft length is 33mm. Thank you.

How do I slow down my new 340-020 movement it runs about 10 minutes too fast each 24 hours ?

Asked by: sunburst
Hello sunburst, if your mechanical clock movement is running slow or fast you can adjust the speed by moving the pendulum disk up or down. The pendulum disk is moved up or down by turning the adjustment nut. To slow the Grandfather Clock down, move the pendulum disk down by turning the adjustment nut to the left. To speed the Grandfather Clock up, move the pendulum disk up by turning the adjustment nut to the right. Thank you!

I have purchased a Hermle mantle clock 340-020 movement  Is there an on / off button or lever as I have wound it and it is not running  Thank you

Asked by: phil9843
Hi Phil, there isn't an on/off button on this Hermle mechanical movement. We recommend trying to move the minute hand forward a couple minutes to see if that will get it running. Also, move the wheel on the back of the movement to get it spinning. If that doesn't work, please contact us at 1-800-556-2548 and we'll assist you from there. Thank you!

Hello,   The three winding arbors on the 340-020 mechanical movement, can you tell me what they do when looking at the dial face head on?  Also how do you activate the chime silencer? I received this clock as a gift with nothing  Regards,  David

Asked by: Dawink
Hi David, if facing the front of the clock: the left winding arbor is for the hour chimes, center is the time and right is the ¼ hour melody. The chime lever moves up to turn the chimes on ands down to turn them off. Please contact us at 1-800-556-2548 if you have any questions on this information.
