This German Dual-Chime Clock Movement is a quartz clock movement that features a speaker that mounts remotely. Includes 5-1/2" of remote speaker wire. Electronically plays a smooth, progressive Westminster melody or Bim Bam and strikes the hours; also chimes each quarter hour. This German clock movement automatically reduces the chime volume between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. A volume control option allows for volume to be switched from loud, soft, or off.

Available in two shaft lengths with pendulum and non-pendulum options. For those movement options with a pendulum, the 16" breakaway pendulum rod is 1/2" from the clock movement front and swings may vary up to 1/2".

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best replacement I have. I bought this movement to replace one in my wife's Grandmother clock I built for her.The movement was easy to install and has been running for 1 1/2 months and this movement has not lost a second since being fitted to the clock and the chimes are very good sounding my wife likes the bim-bam chime best so that is what we hear.I am very pleased with it and think it is a great product I would recommend it to anyone.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Defective The one I received stopped at least once a day. I tried changing batteries, but the problem persisted. Several other things to be aware of: In the Westminster mode, when the movement chimes the half-hour, the recording was shut off about a second too soon. As a result, the last note doesn't fade out, but cuts off abruptly. The other thing to be aware of is that the "night mode" is a reduced volume mode - the chimes aren't actually silenced. Lastly, prospective buyers should note that adjusting the movement for daylight savings when "falling back" is somewhat tedious. You have to advance the movement forward 23 hours, stopping to let each on-the-hour chime melody and hour count play.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the Sound This Replaced my Movements in my Grand Mother Clock. My Husband had Trouble getting it set We were off by 8 Minutes. He called the Company and they told him how to fix the Problem. Now its on time

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Adequate with a few warts I needed to replace a Chinese movement that had partially failed, but I never really liked. I do like the sound of this chime, much more realistic. But I did not read the description carefully enough. The night setting only reduces the volume, it does not silence the chime. Also, I do not like that you must advance time 23 hours to preserve the night setting when shifting to Standard time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Clock - Crummy Hands. Great clock with excellent sound. Does not sound fake like some of the others. Only drawback were the hands. Cheep plastic in black. Talked to the support to see if I cold buy any other hands and the answer was no. Retrofitting an old Seth Thomas clock and with some filing and grinding was able to fit the old hands on this clock. Would give it five stars if the hands were better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice Sound I have built close to 30 clocks, the movement is a little pricey, but this probably has the best sound of any quartz movement I've used.

I just got the German dual-chime Quartz clock movement. After installing, the clock works great but it does t chime. I hear a small click on the hour. How can I fix this?

Asked by: Quilter
Hi Quilter, please try these trouble shooting tips to get the clock movement chiming: 1. Make sure the volume switch is pushed to the top -The volume dial is on the right bottom corner on the back of this movement 2. Make sure the night silencer isn’t on by ensuring the upper switch on the upper right hand corner is pushed to the sun icon. 3. To properly turn the night silencer on, they should move the switch to either moon icon pending there chime selection. 4. Make sure the speaker wire is firmly attached and not frayed 5. Check and see if anything is blocking the speaker 6. Make sure the battery is fresh and installed the correct way If you tried the above trouble shooting aspects and the clock movement doesn't properly chime, please contact us at 1-800-556-2548.

What is the procedure that will make the movement to sync the chimes to the dial number setting?

Asked by: FrankA
Hi Frank, to sync the time with the chime, we recommend the following: - Locate the black time set wheel on the back of the movement - Wait for the movement to finish chiming out the hour - When it is finished, place one finger firmly on the time set wheel (make sure that wheel does not move) - With your other hand, physically force the minute hand to the 12 This may take a few tries and should only be done at the hour mark. If you have any questions on this information, please contact us at 1-800-556-2548.

I recently ordered this movement. I am replacing this movement into a Seth Thomas mantle clock case. However, the speaker wire will be too short to attach to the speaker hole that I have in the back door of the case. How can I lengthen the speaker wire?

Asked by: Prof
Hi Prof, we don't currently have suggestions for lengthening the speaker wire on this clock movement. We recommend trying to attach the speaker within the case and seeing how the sound resonates. If you aren't satisfied with how it sounds in a different spot within your case, please contact us at 1-800-556-2548 and we can initiate a product refund or exchange for a different clock movement.

I have a Seth Thomas with a short case max. Distance from center of hand shaft to bottom do case 12" swing 6.5" can the pendulum be shortened to fit in this case?

Asked by: James73
Hi James, yes - this clock movement comes with a 16" pendulum rod that has scored marks in 1" increments to make it easy to snap off and shorten to your preference.

Will this part fit into a 612-481 Howard Miller Mantel clock? It is not like the movement in the clock that doesn't work. This one requires 2 C batteries. The clock is working, but the chimes are not. Thank you. Sandra Pizzola

Asked by: Sandy
Hi Sandra, we'll need to know some specific measurements of the clock case before confirming if this dual-chime clock movement will work as a replacement in your Howard Miller mantel clock. We'll reach out soon via email with more information. Thank you!

The clock plays 5 minutes before it is supposed to, how do I fix that?

Asked by: Troyz
Hi Troy, to synchronize the chime with the time, please follow these steps: (1) After the clock movement chimes for the hour, locate the set wheel on the back of the movement. (2) While holding the set wheel, push the minute hand to the 12 on your clock face. (3) Allow the movement to run for approximately 2 hours (untouched) to see if the time has been realigned. (4) If not, complete the process again. Typically it takes one to two realignments to resolve the issue. If after the second realignment the time and chime are not synchronized, please contact us at 1-800-556-2548 or klockit@klockit.com.
