Quartex Brand

Our popular Atomic Clock Movement auto-synchronizes with the official U.S. time in Fort Collins, Colorado up to 5 times per day. Also known as radio controlled, these atomic movements are the most accurate clock movements on the market today. Auto-sets for DST assuring you have the correct time, every time.

Use these atomic clock movements in your next project, or replace your old quartz motors with an updated clock movement that sets itself! A free pair of hands is included with our quartz atomic clock movements. In order to ensure that your radio controlled clock motor receives the best signal strength, we do not recommend using this movement with a metal clock face. Operates in the Continental U.S. only in Pacific, Mountain, Central and Eastern time zones. Use this hanger to hang your clock quickly and efficiently.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to set up. Service was fast and good. I was surprised at how easy it was to set up this atomic clock movement. I recently designed and built an Arts & Crafts style wall clock. With your clock movement it keeps perfect time!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Good At This Price I have built four clock using the Quartex Atomic Clock motor. It has been easy to install, and with a couple of restarts, easy to get it set. It works perfectly. My only complaints are 1) the case is too thick for some of my clock designs, and 2) there needs to be a version with a longer stem for some things I want to build. I have been able to get around both of these challenges so far; it was a real dilemma in the case of the pictured clock.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worth even with the Little Challenges Bought two units and had to modify both clocks to get units to fit in housing. The hour, minute and second hands were a little thinner than the originals and the hour hands have a slit in them for attachment. One unit second hand was stopping at the 29 second spot and would stay there for a while and then resume function. Emailed for fix to which the reply was to cut 1/8 inch off of second hand to get a better balance. I decided to try re-balance the hands as I wasn't excited about shortening the second hand. The re-balanced worked. Overall, I am pleased with the units and happy that they are keeping good time which is why the old quartz ones were replaced.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works like a charm! I wanted a clock that would set itself so I wouldn't have to worry about it once the structure was put together. The Klockit clock works great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product! I bought this movement to replace the one in a reproduction vintage clock that sits on our mantle. The new movement was easy to install, seems to keep excellent time, and never has to be reset for Standard vs. Daylight savings time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great! Bought this to replace a nice looking clock I own that had a broken movement. Installation was straight forward, and it picked up the radio signal pretty quick. I've had this movement for about a month, and it still keeps atomic time. It's slightly larger than a standard movement, so you're going to want to make sure it will fit before purchasing. It was easy enough to install I'm tempted to replace all my analogue quartz clocks with an atomic movement.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from DST switch doesn't seem to work on ET Well as another commenter noted, the value of the DST switch doesn't seem to do anything here now that we're on DST. I've just re-synced the clock 4 times which it's happily done, but never to the proper EDT. It forever stays on EST regardless of the value of the DST on/off switch on the back. Temporary solution is to flip to CST but ultimately the movement will need to be replaced. My recommendation would be to just try one of the set & forget movements. I'm not sure the atomic ones are worth the trade off assuming you can set the clock for yourself the first time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth It Movement installed easily. Adjusted to Colorado Clock smoothly, and has been keeping exact time effortlessly. It does exactly what your description said it would do, and yes, I plan on buying more as needed.

Can the atomic clock mechanism be set to GMT and work on a 24hr faced wall clock?

Asked by: lance43
Hi Lance, our atomic quartz clock movement don't observe GMT and can't operate correctly using a 24 hour clock face. We do recommend our 24-hour high torque clock movement, #10107, for this purpose:

I purchased one of these movements a year or so ago and it has been working fine. Last week, the clock advanced an hour on its own. I have been expecting it to re-adjust itself, but it has not happened. Any ideas what may have caused this?

Asked by: ClockEd
Our first thought is if the clock movement advanced an hour, perhaps the switch was accidentally moved on the back, which explains why the adjustment has not been made. If the switch is on the correct time zone, we recommend completing a reset - please contact us at 1-800-566-2548 if you need assistance with this.

Does this physically move the hands to the correct position when DST changes? Would a person see the hands advance in spring, for example?

Asked by: BrianK
Hi Brian, yes, this atomic clock movement will physically move the clock hands to the correct time during a DST change. Typically when the time changes, the signal is received overnight and may not occur right at midnight. In some cases, it may take up to 48 hours for the clock to adjust according to the DST change. If you are near the clock when the signal is received, you could see the clock hands adjusting to the correct time.
