Measure Movement Hand Shaft Length is rated
The overall measurement of the hand shaft (A) is important when you are using a glass front on your clock. You must allow sufficient clearance in order for the hands to operate properly. The overall length is measured from the tip of the hand shaft to the case of the movement (A). Allow an additional 1/8" for cap nut or sweep second hand. The threaded portion of the hand shaft (B) is the part of the shaft which will secure your movement to the dial plate or wood. Measure the thickness of the material which the shaft must go through. Allow an additional 1/8" for mounting hardware.

I have a small clock that needs the movement replaced. I bought one that said 1/4" (0.635 cm) thick clock surface on the package, but I need the next size smaller. Which size would I order from you company - and the item # . Thank-you.
Hi Mrs Polcyn, our #10001 will accommodate a maximum of 3/16” dial thickness. That's the next size down from the 1/4" thickness you mentioned above. If you have any questions on this information or need assistance selecting the right clock parts, please feel free to contact us at 1-800-556-2548 or email@example.com. We're happy to help!

Hi I am making clocks from old sprockets of pushbikes. I am going to need different length spindles. Is there a way of making them longer. Thanking you. Natalie
Hi Natalie, we offer a variety of clock movements that have different hand shafts. The longest hand we offer can accommodate 3/4" thick of material. There is not a way of making the hand shaft longer.

I'm building a clock with a 11/16 inch thick dial. Hands will be 14 inch or longer. Do you have a high torque movement that has threaded shaft longer than 11/16 that will handle those hands?
Hi Charles, our #10161 C Cell Battery-powered Quartz Clock Movement will work with the dimensions you mentioned above - more details here: http://www.klockit.com/products/sku-10161.html

I make wooden clocks and leave 1/4 inch thick wood (B) for the hand shaft length. I have ordered battery movements 14500 is too short and 14510 is too long. Is there one that will work for my thickness?
Hi Tom, if you would like to stay with the Set and Forget movement, we would recommend to use the long shaft movement #14510 and add extra washers or a wooden spacer behind the clock face to pull back the shaft so it does not stick out as far in front of the face.
You could also use a standard time keeping movement #10082 that would provide the correct shaft length that you would need. This movement will not change for time change, it will just run like a normal time keeping movement.

I have a mantelpiece size clock with one battery and I want to change the movement because is working very slow. How can I detach the hands, I tried to pull by hand but doesn't give, do I need special tools or how is done.
If you have a second hand, you will need to pull directly up on the hand to remove it from the shaft. If your clock doesn't use a second hand, there is most likely a small nut that you will need to remove before detaching the hour and minute hands. Please contact us at 1-800-556-2548 with any questions on this information or if you need assistance with the detachments.

I have a older Clock Movement piece that went bad and the shaft measures 1-1/2". I do not see where I can order a clock Movement replacement in that size. The old one has a number of: 118683 on it. Don't see that stock number anywhere to reorder.
