This stately mantel clock is styled after the original design of a prominent Early American clock designer, Joseph Ives. The Atkins Clock Company produced it during the mid 1800s. While the original clock (see inset photo) was equipped with a wagon spring, time only movement, our version uses a Hermle 8-day key-wound mechanical movement, which plays the full Westminster melody on the hour, progressive melody on the quarter-hours and strikes out the hours on five tuned chime rods. Great care has been taken to replicate the original clock style in this precision-machined kit. You’ll enjoy completing this clock kit and displaying it with pride in your home or giving it as a special heirloom-quality gift.
