Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a clock. I just finished this clock and it is beautiful. It was shipped really quick and I had it three days after I ordered it. It came in four different packages, I got two one day and the other two the next day. The wood parts are cut perfect and the wood is top grade and the clock works are outstanding. The instructions could be a little better but if you dry fit everything first it's not to difficult to figure out. If you have no woodworking experience you might want to try something a little easier to start out with. The quality is top notch all the way.

We would like to purchase a replacement movement for this clock, as the one we've had just isn't working right.   What would be the replacement?  And would this work for us?  Would there be other options to get our clock to work?

Asked by: Albcdb
Hi Alison, our records show you purchased this clock kit 2012, so the mechanical movement may need a cleaning or minor adjustment. Our Mechanical Technician is going to reach out to you soon to trouble shoot some options on the movement.

Does the case of the clock have to be stained and varnished , Or does it come already stained and varnished?

Asked by: Brent
Hi Brent, this clock kit arrives unassembled and unfinished. You'll need to assembly the pieces to create the clock case, and then stain / varnish it.

<quote>The 2 weights run the pendulum and the time, the left wind up is for the hour strikes and the right is for the 1/4 hour melody.<quote> I apologize for not being more clear. My intended question is, what is the center wind up for? Bill

Asked by: Bil 52
Okay now I got it. The center wind-up lifts the weights which in turn provide the energy to keep the pendulum swinging, which keeps the time. GOT IT. Bill
