The Weight-Driven, 7-Day Pendulum Clock Movement with Bell Strike is a unique clock movement that is driven by a single weight shell that drops 6-3/4" daily, while the smaller cylinder swings as the pendulum. The hours are marked by a single bell strike. The gold time ring and black serpentine hands are mounted directly to the movement. The movement itself mounts to a seat board from the bottom.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome inexpensive clock I bought 3 of these movements to place inside cases I built for my kids. The cases were made from a tree that was in their grandparent's yard. Grandpa pushed them on a swing under this tree. How cool is that. They love them, and the clocks work great. Easy to install and easy to maintain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple Elegance! I bought this movement just before Christmas and installed it into a test case so that I could run it and adjust the timing. After its first strike, I realized that I had to loosen the bell ever so slightly to correct its tone. What a lovely mechanism! The bell is clear, but not sharp or over-loud, and strikes only once upon the hour. This is an excellent movement if you want a striking clock that doesn't become a distraction. I cannot wait to build a custom case for this movement.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Gorgeous clock I bought two of these clocks and put them in simple cherry cabinats I built. The clock runs well, I did have to adjust the hammers for the bells for a better ring tone on both clocks and from the way they were packaged the hands where bent on both clocks they bent back easily.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Package! I bought this to fill an empty clock case. It looks great and works great. A peaceful tick-tock and a sharp single chime every hour. You have to make a seat board for it but it is pretty simple to do.

I like to do wood working as a hobby and I'm looking for a kit to make a clock that could attach to a natural wooden slab for a very rustic look. Does this piece have the capability to attach like that, or does it need a housing like a normal clock?

Asked by: ShefBill
Hi Bill, woodworking is a fun and rewarding hobby! This mechanical movement will attach to a wooden slab for that rustic look. It doesn't require housing, but you may need to clean and oil it more often since the movement won't be covered like in a typical clock case.

does this hang on a wall..or does it have to be in a cabinet

Asked by: cheap
This clock movement needs to be on some kind of shelf that’s attached to the wall. If the clock movement isn’t enclosed in something to help keep it clean, you'll need to have it cleaned and oiled more often.

Can the ring dial be removed from the works?  I just want the movement for a narrow waisted grandmother clock.  Also, does the bell protrude out front of the works that would keep me from using your Tempest Fugit dial with this movement?

Asked by: Fred928
Hi Fred, yes it is possible to remove the clock face. There are 4 tiny screws holding the clock face on, and they can be removed so the face can be removed. The bell does come out over the front plate of the movement by about ¾”.

I am looking at the 13131 movement and I am trying to understand the listed weight drop of 57". How is the weight drop measured?

Asked by: EdMo
Hi Ed, the weight drop is measured from center of hand shaft with movement mounted in case to the top of the weight at full drop.
