You must read the instructions very carefully and several times. Not doing one before is a little nerve racking but well worth the effort.
The clock went together with no problems and runs great.

I am planning on using this movement in a case I built 40 years ago. I know I have enough height and width in the case. I am wondering about the depth. My case is EXACTLY 8.5" deep from the BACKSIDE of the dial frame to the back of the case. Fit??
Hi Rick we measure the depth from the back panel to the tip of the hand shaft. So if this is also how you've measured, you will be fine! Please feel free to contact us at 1-800-556-2548 with any questions on this information, we're happy to help.

will it fixed a howard miller clock 610-317
Hi Russell, we don't currently offer the Howard Miller 610-317 floor clock and would need to know more about before answering this question. We will need the serial number of the movement to confirm which movement you will need to fix the clock. Please contact us at 1-800-556-2548 with that information.

If it is chain driven, what does the winding crank do?
This movement is cable-driven. The winding crank is used to wind the weights up. There are 3 winding holes in the dial face; behind the hole is a winding post that the crank slides onto and you wind the weight up until it stops. You would do this to all 3 places. The left weight runs the hour strikes, the center weight runs the time and the right weight runs the 1/4 hour melody.

what is the difference between the Hermle 13044 and 13044r?
Great question! The #13044 includes the Hermle clock movement, mounting hardware, chime block and rods, a pair of 4-3/4-inch black serpentine hands, a remote second hand, weights (shells sold separately) and a brass winding crank.
The #13044R is a replacement of the movement only. No additional parts are included. We typically recommend purchasing this item to replace an existing movement when all other accessories are still available and in working condition.
