The historic storm glass is regarded as the oldest barometer in the world. Each storm glass is hand blown and accurately forecasts changes in the weather hours in advance. Fill the barometer with colored water and watch the rising or falling level of the liquid in the spout to indicate weather changes. A low water level signals “high pressure” and fair weather. A high water level is associated with “low pressure” and poor weather
conditions. Components are available if any of the glass pieces break, or if you choose to make your own plaque.
