Looks greatI purchased the kit to build the Madison grandfather clock. I was very impressed by the quality of the wood and the way it was manufactured! The pieces fit together very nicely, it was an enjoyable project all the way from start to completion. I am really enjoying the compliments on how elegant it looks!

Terrific kit!!I built a Madison from a Klockit kit during the summer of 2014. It is a great kit with beautiful wood and excellent well-fitting parts. I wanted the clock to be 3" shorter than the design, so I simply reconfigured the base slightly. I put about 12 layers of different color stains and clear finish on the clock to get it looking the way I wanted. It was a lot of work, but it turned out to be a beautiful heirloom!
I installed the 13088 Hermle 1171-890/114cm 8-Day, Cable-Driven Mechanical Clock Movement into the clock. These mechanical movements are expensive, but when you hear the sound (relative to the less expensive steel rod chimes) you will not regret spending the extra money.
The movement is highlighted by LED stip lights mounted inside the case on either side of the door and pointed towards the movement at 45 degrees. I simply leave the lights on 24/7. It's a very nice look, especially at night.
On this kit is the door come pre- assembled with hinge relief already cut into it ready to be hung or does the door have to be assembled before hanging?

Hi Joe, the door assembly for the Madison grandfather clock kit will arrive pre-assembled you would have to place the hinges in the desired location and attach.
