Seiko Brand

The Seiko Electronic Dual-Chime Clock Movement is a quartz clock movement that includes a speaker that can be mounted directly on the movement or the case. Electronically plays Westminster or Whittington melody on quarter hours and strikes out the hours. The volume control lets you select desired sound level and the night silencer switch automatically quiets chimes during sleeping hours. A rear set-knob is placed for convenient time setting. The 16" breakaway pendulum rod is 1/2" from the movement front and swings may vary up to 1/2".

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The repair answer My 26 year old movement died and could not be fixed. This Seiko replacement movement was the answer. It attaches to the clock face and the movement syncs up automatically once the time is set. I can't reach the battery case with out removing the face so I ran an extension wire down the inside of the wall clock. I put a C-battery case at the bottom (out of sight). Now I can change the battery quickly and adjust the time by removing and replacing it as needed. We love the sound of the chimes. Top notch.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Seiko???? The product arrived as promised and worked fine. The instructions were adequate. Any modest hobyist or do-it-yourselfer should be able to handle the installation. My only criticism is in the advertisment of the "Seiko" name. When the product arrived there was absolutely no evidence that Seiko had anything to do with this movement. There was a name I never heard of stamped on the case and "Made in China". No where on the paperwork or on the movement did anything say Seiko. It made me wonder about the integrity of the advertising. Otherwise the movement has worked well so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Replacement I had a clock built by a family friend in 1988. The battery leaked and ruined the movement. I called Klockit and gave this item number for a replacement. I just put it together yesterday and it works great. The chimes are much nicer sounding than the original.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Heart Transplant for the clock my son made My son made this clock when he was in high school about 30 years ago. The works recently gave up the ghost. So I ordered new works--a Seiko Electronic Dual Chime pendulum Quartz Clock Movement. The order arrived promptly and I proceeded to remove the old works and replace them with this new Seiko clock movement. The process went well, including setting the time and the chiming.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Made an antique useful with technology I purchased this reviewing all my options over the internet. Realizing that I am not expert on how to take a clock apart, it is more important to remember how to put it together. Well, I found this unit very easy to understand. It took me all of about 10 minutes to assemble. I replaced the quartz movement from an old German manufacturer that is no longer in business. Although the clock is over 40 years old, we made the install with a Seiko Quartz movement with chimes and it works better than it did with the original equipment. great price and value, and more important, I did it myself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great battery operated clock movement I purchased 4 of the Seiko Electronic Dual-Chime Pendulum Quartz Clock Movements spread across November/December 2015. I built 4 clocks, 3 oak, 1 walnut and this clock movement with its features truly enhanced the clocks I built. If you are building a clock or replacing a movement, I recommend this one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A replacement I replaced a 20 year old one in a schoolhouse clock I had made. It had quit chiming and finally quit working. I kept the old pendulum and reused it with this works. It keeps great time and chimes load enough to hear throughout the house. Was easy to install and fit nicely in old clock.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Accuracy amazing We now have two of these in the house, replacing original antique clockworks (sadly), but the Seiko units have turned out to be more than replacements; the chime is exceptionally fine--one clock has a separate, larger speaker, the other the stock speaker up against old wood--and the accuracy is as good as two other atomic wall clocks in the house. Seiko is really good at this, no doubts whatsoever.

My son's school project clock has this movement in it and it quit working shortly after he brought it home. The pendulum slowly loses momentum after I start it, then stops. I replaced the battery and it still has the same problem. What am I doing wrong?

Hi Bob, "short shaft" is referring to the movement's hand shaft. Pendulum is in () and indicates that the movement is a pendulum version.
